Hi! This month, our 10% Tuesday fundraiser will be for Out to Pasture.

Out to Pasture (OTP) is an all-volunteer no-kill sanctuary in Estacada, Oregon dedicated to providing permanent housing and care for a variety of abused, neglected or abandoned animals including large farm animals, pigs, rabbits, chickens and dogs. OTP believes that animals value their lives as much as we value our own and deserve to live free of exploitation and cruelty and is a place where all living beings are treated with kindness and compassion. Hello Peoples! We will be opening up on June 9th in our new digs at 1125 SE Division Street. It’s right on the corner of 12th and Division, in the “Banana Building”…the one with the big Andy Warhol banana inspired mural (ya’ know…like on the Velvet Underground album…anyway…). So! Come on down for din-din or a cocktail/mocktail and have a nice time with us. We’re opening around 5ish.

We’ll reopen the first week of June at our new location on 12th and Division, in the “Banana Building.” (1125 SE Division) We’re having some fun trying to track down and alter the various online posts about our hours and location on other people’s sites, but we’re working on it. If you stumble across erroneous info about us out there in the great grandiose world wider webbery, pretty please do let the site hosts know, and feel free to let us know as well. Vegan Baking Classes with Chef Marisa

Vegan Baking Classics

Thursday, May 6th, 6pm to 8pm

Learn to bake muffins, scones, and quick breads using all vegan ingredients.

Cupcakes

Thursday, May 13th, 6pm to 8pm

Learn the basic techniques behind creating classic cupcakes, vegan-style. Chocolate cake, vanilla cake, and how to improvise variations. No cupcake is complete without its frosting. Learn how to make vegan frosting perfect for decorating.

Chocolate Indulgence

Thursday, May 20th, 6pm to 8pm

Just because you’re vegan doesn’t mean you can’t have chocolate! Marisa will teach you to make vegan mousse, chocolate chip cookies, and chocolate ganache.

Backyard BBQ

Thursday, May 27th, 6pm to 8pm

Just in time for Memorial Day, learn to create classic backyard desserts such as crisps, cobblers, and pies.

$45 per course or $160 for all four (you save $20!)

Live the Revolution!

In celebration of exactly one year of custom designed, locally hand built wheels, Epic Wheel Works is throwing a benefit bicycle throwdown! “Live the Revolution” will be all about celebrating and supporting bikes and wheels, honoring Epic’s first year of work and the company’s commitment to not only putting people on great wheels but also supporting the local cycling community.

In conjunction with our celebration, we’re also hosting a photo contest, with the winning photo inspiring a handbuilt wheelset that will be auctioned off at the event. Want to take part? All you have to do is submit your bike-related photos to our Flickr Pool or submit via email by sending them to epicwheelworksphoto@gmail.com.

“Live the Revolution” will feature an art show of our favorite photos, limited edition t-shirts, a wheel changing contest and more. We’ll also be raffling off some sweet goods from people like Nutcase Helmets, Plywerk, Gracie’s Wrench, Portland Design Works, and Madison’s Bar & Grill, with all proceeds benefiting the Bicycle Transportation Alliance’s educational program Safe Routes to School.

Transition Under Way with a Break in May!

Hi There Folks!

Portobello will be moving to 12th and Division here in lovely Southeast Portland. We are slated to open ’round June 1st. We will have our last dinner service at our current location on Saturday, May 1st. We’re taking May off to finish up the construction and decoration of the new Portobello! We’ll keep you informed and up to date with the move.

Thanks for one year and four plus months of fun, friends, and good company. We’ll have many more great moments at our new location!
